There are another thing that could be better in some cutscenes like that, and maybe be corrected in HD versions (SPOIL AHEAD, click on the link only if you really finished the game):

Hi,

just a message to say that i've finished Pier Solar HD in approximately 22h. (My save says 20h30 but it didn't count final boss).

If you didn't do the game, do not read this spoil!
I've finished the game twice to see the good and the bad ending.

I've choosen the good ending first and the relationship beetwen Alina and Kruller surpised me. But what surprised me the most in this ending was the fact that the three architects appear at the end and admit that everything had gone according to plan.

The bad ending make me sad again. I said "again" cause i've already finished Pier Solar on Megadrive.

Thanks to all the team who worked really hard and continue to work to improve the game. Especially to Tulio, Fonzie, Zable, GrooveMaster303, ArmVM and all people who worked on this game (Megadrive and HD included).

I finished the game! Amazing! (with the good ending)

I would like to see in the future a Pier Solar 2, that would be great! Or maybe a DLC... I have a idea for a DLC:

[Spoiler]

Has someone played Final Fantasy II? When you finish the game, you can play in the "heaven" with the characters who died in the main story. I would like to see something similar in Pier Solar. For example: The main character could be Kleoneo, who has to redeem himself for his actions. In the "Heaven/ Other World", he find Rudy and they form a team. Other characters could be Mohu and Ironhart, and maybe a new character of water element.

Could you image? A team formed by:

- Kleoneo (earth?)
- Rudy (earth)
- Mohu (wind)
- Ironhart (fire)
- New character (water)

Well I know the new version of the game has 2 endings but yeah the original ending is super sad.

Its kind of a rip off of the butter fly effect. I mean he just kills himself before he was ever born to save all the hardship.

I cant wait for the dc version so i can finally play through and see what the new ending is.

I've bought ever damn version digitally there is but ive yet to put any real time or effect into them as I really wanna play it on my DC.

I beat the game about a week ago, and I would have beaten it a week before that but I took some time away from it to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. I also wrote up my thoughts on the game after I beat it, but it took me just long enough to write it that the system logged me out and my original view got lost in the void. Grrrr! Oh well, I'll try to duplicate my review now to the best of my remembrances.

My final time in the game was 33h18m. Judging by other people's play times, that's pretty normal. Other than the updated graphics, I've tried to keep things on their default settings for an authentic experience. I didn't even use the map or radar most of the time. Only when I suspected a chest was near but couldn't clearly see it.

It's funny that this game was made for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive originally, because the format and design of it looks most like a Square Enix game, and Square Enix made games for Nintendo. I mention this as more of a curiosity than anything. If someone involved with the game would like to explain the kinds of aesthetics they were going for, I'd like to see what they have to say. I just think it's interesting.

The HD conversion is really good. I like how they leave some things looking pixelated even in HD. I think pixel art is one of the reasons we love playing games like this, so it was smart to leave some of that in there. Basically it looks and feels like an old game, but also is great coming off of a modern screen.

The music is good too, especially the enhanced soundtrack. I think the music for major bosses has kind of a Star Fox sound to it in parts. Sounding a little bit like Star Fox is never a bad thing, because that game also had some great music. Also I love the final boss music. Not only is it the kind of thing I want to hear when facing a big bad ugly, but it's just a good theme in of itself.

I also appreciate the Gather system. Good job adding in a little something extra to work with. Some games are like a more complicated game of rock/paper/scissors with their various element types and stuff, but with Pier Solar you have to really strategize. I love it when I have to think a bit about how I'm going to approach something.

If I had to pick on one thing about Pier Solar in terms of what I didn't quite like, it's that it's kind of linear. There's no real free range; just a progression from one place to the next with some rest and recharge stops in between. And really, it wouldn't be so bad if it didn't start the game out with a world map with the illusion that it would be a game with a lot of free range. A lot of people talk about Meho being a really hard part of the game, and I think it's probably in no small part because of that. Once you get to Meho the linearity really starts, and you wouldn't think to spend serious time stocking up and healing unless you knew you were about to face another tough section right up ahead.

Overall though, I wouldn't change a thing to the game. It's a good game for a nostalgic trip and fills that need very well. The creators should be pleased with what they've put together here.

I just beat Pier Solar for dreamcast and it was an amazing experience, i made the choice at the end with no and the ending was pretty good.

I would like to see another rpg from watermelon in the future, i really enjoyed the combat and the light hearted moments between Edessot,Hoston and Alina.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this game, it was a hard year and i wanted to finally finish this great game on my dreamcast, i think i will start up the genesis version and maybe finish that some time soon.

Here is a tip for dreamcast players using the default dreamcast controller, use the joystick instead of the dpad for the slippery section's. The dpad did not work well enough for me for those section's, speaking of slippery fun(it was not fun) i will try beating the slippery mini game just for completion.

About 30 hours but it depends on how much sidequests you do and what platform you play on.
